UK must dissociate itself completely from the Middle East “Battlefield”

Peace Party can only endorse the following part of a statement issued by the Stop the War Coalition: “The US ‘assasination’ of Qasem Soleimani is an extremely serious and dangerous escalation of conflict with global significance.”

The Peace Party reaction is to urge the UK government

(a) to call directly on the United States government for restraint on its part in the belligerent noises and actions coming from itself,

(b) to raise the issues immediately with the UN General Assembly and the Security Council and

(c) to play no further military role anywhere in the Middle East.
