Terrorism is always sad news for all concerned – the victims and friends and families – but also for the terrorists themselves. We are all members of the human family, after all. Today, of course, we remember and grieve for all who have suffered from the bombings in Brussels – and others in the past.
Terrorism – for us in the Peace Party – represents failure. Failure of the world community to nurture all its members, whatever their affiliations. Surely, it is the duty of the world community to ensure that all its members’ needs are being met – which lead to equality, happiness and contentment – not only for the basics such as water, food, shelter, but also for complete measures of protection, safety and security (ones that will never need life-threatening instruments to succeed, but only the compassion of common humanity).
Above all, we need to elaborate on these measures – something the Peace Party needs to do under your guidance (just send an e-mail to info@peaceparty.org.uk, please) – otherwise people may well resort to calling for more armed men and women to ‘defend’ us (which will never work satisfactorily – for the cycle of violence will just be perpetuated).
Do you feel able to start work with us on listing out and describing in detail those measures (to protect, to promote safety and security) so that we can say, “This is what we would like to see in place in society (instead of all that inequality, unhappiness and bitterness)”?
